Tasks and Task Attachments

The most important entity for data exchange between an ERP or other back office system and OMD is the Task entity. A task is an activity that needs to be performed by an individual mobile resource within a single working day at a specific location. A task can consist of one or more planned items (see Process Flows below).

Along with each Task, Task Attachments are used to attach specific task delivery details and to log information about the life-cycle of the task. Basically, attachments read like a log book for everything happening to the task. The Attachment Reference Guide contains an extensive list of attachments. External systems can read outbound attachments by using Gateway queries.
